Passenger counts at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport dropped 92.9 percent in April showing the impact COVID-19 had on travel and tourism.

Only 282,243 passengers flew in and out of Sky Harbor in April compared to almost 4 million in April 2019, according to new statistics out today.

Sky Harbor is a big economic driver for Arizona’s economy.

Air cargo for April was up 5.2 percent compared to a year ago (33,246 tons versus 31,605 tons) though air mail deliveries dropped by 38.5 percent year over year.
