By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

Scottsdale ranks as the one of the top cities in the U.S. for ‘staycations’ as the economy reopens in a number of states and COVID-19 continues to impact travel and tourism.

Scottsdale ranks as the 7th best U.S. city for staycations, according to financial research firm WalletHub. Staycations are when local residents stay at local resorts or hotels instead more distant travels.

The rankings are based on recreation amenities such as parks, biking and hiking as well as summer weather and restaurant offerings.

Plano, Texas outside of Dallas ranks first, followed by Boise, Idaho and Tampa.

Scottsdale ranks well in the ranking for the number of homes with pools and the size of homes for those wanting to enjoy time off at home.

Peoria ranks 16th on the WalletHub list, Glendale 24th and Gilbert 33rd.
