Air cargo operator wants to expand Phoenix footprint

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

Air cargo firm, Worldwide Flight Services, is looking to expand its footprint at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

WFS currently leases 13 cargo bays at Sky Harbor’s West Air Cargo Facility.
Worldwide Flight wants to lease up 9 more cargo bays at the Phoenix airport.
The expansion and a 5-year lease for the bays is being considered by the Phoenix City Council. The city of Phoenix owns and manages Sky Harbor.

Worldwide Flight is based in France and has air cargo and other aviation operations worldwide. The lease deal with Phoenix would total $1.5 million over five years, according to city documents.

While passenger counts have plummeted 92.9 percent at Sky Harbor during the COVID-19 pandemic, air cargo was up 5.7 percent in April.
