Arizona ranks in the middle of the pack among U.S. states for restrictions and mandates related to COVID-19.

Arizona ranks 24th on a ranking of U.S. states based on which have the fewest restrictions and orders related to COVID.

The rankings were compiled by financial research firm WalletHub.

South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Utah have the fewest COVID restrictions. New Mexico, Vermont, and California have the most. New York has the 5th most COVID mandates and orders.

Arizona moved down 11 spots for having the fewest restrictions after a number of cities (including Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa and Tempe) as well as Maricopa County approved mask mandates.

Texas has the 14th fewest restrictions. Florida has the 23rd fewest. Michigan is now 28th.

East Coast where more COVID cases first hit tend to have more restrictions in place still.

Maryland, for example, ranks 46th, according to WalletHub.
