Phoenix Rising FC General Manager Bobby Dulle admitted as such: A perfect way to return to sports doesn’t exist.
COVID-19 can’t be defeated by pumping goals past a ‘keeper or by outrunning its defenses. For sports, where competition is its lifeblood and what captivates billions to be active across the world, the novel coronavirus is the most bitter, ruthless, hard-nosed opponent that it’s ever faced.
“I don’t think there’s one shoe that fits all,” Dulle said in a virtual press conference Wednesday. “I wouldn’t say that our plan … is the best or the one that everyone else should be implementing. But I would say that it’s the best plan for the teams and the United Soccer League to move forward, to get back out there.”
