Mesa looks for contractors, engineers for board posts

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The city of Mesa is looking for contractors and engineers to potentially serve on the city’s Building Board of Appeals.

The board hears appeals made by property owners and others to decisions made by the Mesa Fire Marshal and Buildings Safety Director. The Building Board of Appeals also considers the suitability of alternative construction materials and construction processes.

The board is made up of Mesa residents and has openings for those with experience as an electrical contractor or engineer; a plumbing or mechanical contractor or mechanical engineer and a member who has experience with firefighting techniques or firefighting engineering.

Nominees are recommended by the Mayor and approved by the Mesa City Council. For more information on the board and other city committees and to apply go to www.mesaaz.gov/boards.
