Mesa to vote on mixed-use development near airport

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Mesa City Council will consider rezoning an 89-acre parcel at Signal Butte and East Williams Field Roads for a planned mixed-use development.

The project – Destination at Gateway – looks to have commercial developments including auto dealerships along with residential components.

The Mesa Council will also vote on entering into a retail development tax incentive deal with the developer of the project.

The land is currently vacant and is currently zoned for residential uses with supporting neighborhood commercial uses. It is near Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport.

The Mesa City Council is being asked to change the zoning to allow for the proposed mixed-use development. Destination at Gateway is on the council’s agenda today.

The project is being proposed by Signal Butte 24 LLC. Arizona Corporation Commission filings show Freedom Communities and Tres Points LLC as the corporate managers of the development group.
