Tempe asked to lift size restrictions on medical marijuana cultivation facilities

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Tempe City Council is looking at lifting restrictions on the size of medical marijuana cultivation facilities.

Tempe currently limits cannabis grow facilities to 25,000 square feet. The Tempe Council is being asked to lift that size limit completely.

Phoenix and Scottsdale also do not limit the size of medical marijuana grow facilities. Mesa also has a 25,000 square foot limit while Chandler and Gilbert limit their size to 3,000 square feet.

CJK Inc. (Hana Meds) is requesting the change.

The Tempe City Council will hold a hearing on the change on Thursday.
