The city of Chandler has approved a two construction contracts totaling $489,457 for improvements along Gilbert Road where a new high school and other new developments have been or are being built.
The Chandler City Council has approved a $361,915 contract for Ritoch Powelll & Associates Consulting Engineers Inc. to make improvements between Ocotillo Road and Chandler Heights Road.
Gilbert Road will be widened to three lanes and three new traffic signals will be installed including at a new Chandler Unified School District high school slated to be built at Brooks Farm Road and south of Ocotillo Road that serves shopping centers anchored by a Fry’s Food Store and a Sprouts Farmers Market.
Chandler has also approved a $127,542 pre-construction services contract with Sunland Asphalt and Construction Inc. as part of the improvements.
