Former Detroit Lion sells Scottsdale mansion

A former NFL player and an orthodontist were among the sellers of the most expensive homes in metro Phoenix this week.

Among the luxury features: putting greens, home offices and an outdoor kitchen.

$5,250,000

Jay and Colleen Johnson used a family trust to pay cash for a five-acre estate in Fountain Hills’ Firerock community. Jay Johnson is a chief operating officer at loanDepot, an online mortgage lender.

The 9,440-square-foot home features hand-carved cabinetry, his-and-her offices and a golf simulator. Grounds of the estate include a negative edge pool and unobstructed views of Four Peaks and the McDowell mountains.
