Gilbert mayoral candidates assess the town’s biggest challenge

Three mayoral candidates are vying for Gilbert’s top elected position, each with different visions of the town’s progress and future.

Lynne King Smith, the founder of a ticketing software company and co-working space in Gilbert, has handily outraised her opponents. Both King Smith and Matt Nielsen, a charter school management executive, are first-time candidates. They face Brigette Peterson, who sat on the Town Council until she resigned to run for mayor in March.
