Lucid Motors plans to open car stores

Lucid Motors Inc. is taking a page from rival Tesla Inc.’s playbook, announcing plans on Wednesday to sell its electric cars from posh “studios” in high traffic locations, including Westfield Valley Fair.

The company said it will have a “Silicon Valley Studio” at its global headquarters in Newark, as well as two locations in Los Angeles, and one each in Miami, West Palm Beach, New York City and Washington, D.C. There are none planned in the Phoenix area yet, but Lucid said it plans to open 20 stores by the end of 2021.
