A medical technology firm specializing in diabetes monitoring firm is expanding its production and logistics footprint in Mesa.
San Diego-based Dexcom Inc. has leased 486,000 square feet at the Landing 202 development in southeast Mesa.
The facility is larger than the California’s company’s current 145,000-square-foot west Mesa center.
The expansion plans will allow Dexcom to grow its East valley workforce to more than 1,000 employees. Dexcom manufacturers wearable sensors diabetes patients use to monitor glucose levels.
“Dexcom chose to expand here in Mesa and really hasn’t stopped since they arrived,” Mayor John Giles said in a statement. “Their innovative approach to continuous glucose monitoring makes them an industry leader and I’m proud of their success in our city.”
Landing 202 is a 605,000-square-foot Class A industrial development off the Loop 202 near Ray and Hawes Road. It is in one of Mesa’s Opportunity Zones.
