CASA GRANDE – At least a couple of customers left the Casa Grande Goodwill last week after they were asked to put on a mask after entering the store.
One man entered the store, was asked to put on a mask and declined, according to the Casa Grande Police Department. The man then left the store on his own accord. A police officer gave the man “a verbal trespass order at the request of Goodwill,” said Police Chief Mark McCrory in an email to the Dispatch. There was no citation or arrest involved.
McCrory said the department is not enforcing the city’s mask rule as it would an ordinance or state law. “We are using education in an attempt to get people to comply,” he said. “However, a business can restrict access to their buildings if they require customers to wear a mask. We ‘may’ get involved in these calls to enforce trespassing ordinances on behalf of the business.”
