CG planners give blessing to tire shop, hotel

CASA GRANDE – After much discussion about trees and paint colors, a new hotel and a Firestone tire shop received a recommendation of approval from the Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission Thursday evening.

The conditional use permit for a new Firestone tire shop next to the Circle K gas station near the intersection of Florence Boulevard and Pottebaum Road first appeared before the commission in June.

The project was postponed in order to give the applicant more time to work on concerns about the aesthetics of the back wall of the building and traffic flow out of the parking lot onto Florence Boulevard expressed by the commission and Warren Funeral Services to the east of the property.
