Chandler approves roadway, pedestrian improvements

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Chandler City Council has approved more than $11 million worth of transportation and infrastructure upgrades. Most of the improvements are being funded by a regional sales tax focused on transportation projects.

They include reimbursement deals with the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) to utilize Proposition 400 sales tax revenue for:

  •  $4 million worth of improvements along Alma School Road (between Pecos and Germann roads)
  • $7.45 million to widen and improve Lindsey Road between Ocotillo Road and Hunt Highway.

Those areas continue to see growth and development. The Chandler Council also approved a smaller $4,047 allocation for pedestrian improvements from Chandler Boulevard to Frye Road.
