Gilbert ranks among the top housing markets in the country, according to new research.
Gilbert ranks as the fifth best residential real estate market in the U.S. and the third best among mid-sized municipalities, according to WalletHub. The firm looked home price appreciation and values as well as number of foreclosures, delinquent loans, and other indicators.
Boise, Idaho ranked first followed by Seattle, Frisco, Texas, Nashville, and Gilbert.
The Phoenix regional housing market has performed very well this summer especially with new home sales demand spurred by low mortgage interest rates, according to Belfiore Real Estate Consulting.
Other Phoenix area cities also ranked well in the WalletHub study.
Peoria was 17th, Surprise 20th, Tempe 23rd, Chandler 24th.
The study also takes into the local economy and housing affordability.
Miami Beach, Baltimore, Albany, New York, Jackson, Mississippi, and Dayton rank lowest on the Wallet Hub survey.
Among other Arizona cities, Mesa comes in 45th, Phoenix 51st, Glendale 73rd and Scottsdale 75th.
