Goodyear planners recommend rezoning for multifamily

A multifamily housing community proposed for Goodyear is one step closer to fruition after the city Planning and Zoning Commission voted Aug. 12 to recommend the City Council approve the developer’s rezoning request.

Greenlight Communities LLC of Scottsdale is asking the city to rezone 10.25 acres at the northwest corner of Van Buren Street and Bullard Avenue from Planned Area Development to Multifamily 24 with a PAD overlay so it can build Cabana on Bullard.

The community would feature 334 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments in five three-story buildings built around a series of courtyards. Proposed amenities include a fitness center, pool, community barbeque area, outdoor fitness, zen and hammock gardens, bike storage and laundry facility.
