SW Valley voters elect 3 mayors

Voters in three southwest Valley cities elected new mayors on Tuesday, although they weren’t competitive races. The race for three open City Council seats in Tolleson was neck and neck.

Avondale Mayor Kenn Weise ran unopposed for a second elected term. Eric Orsborn faced no competition in his bid to replace longtime Buckeye Mayor Jackie Meck. And in Tolleson, Vice Mayor Juan Rodriguez was the only candidate for mayor.

Three City Council races in the southwest Valley were contested.
