The Glendale City Council will consider more aspects of bringing a proposed water park, hotel and mixed-use development to the Westgate area near State Farm Stadium.
The Glendale council is slated to consider selling 0.29 acres of land at 95th Avenue and Montebello Avenue to ECL Glendale LLC / Epic Resort Destinations for the planned project.
Epic is partnering with Crystal Lagoons to develop a 48-acre project which will include a lagoon style water park, 630 hotel rooms, office space, amusement rides and 4-D movie theater.
The Glendale Council is also slated to craft parking agreements with ECL for the development. Those involve working out parking agreements involving ECL along with the Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority which owns and operates nearby State Farm Stadium.
The sale and parking deals are on the council’s agenda for its meeting today.
The water park project is also getting a $1 million fee waiver and Government Property Lease Excise Tax (GPLET) incentive package from Glendale.
