Chandler looks at contract for road improvements

The city of Chandler is looking to approve new contracts for planned improvements on Lindsey Road, Gilbert Road and Cooper Road.

The Chandler City Council will vote today on a $1.76 million contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates for design and project management services for improvements along Lindsey Road, Gilbert Road

That project runs from Ocotillo Road to Hunt Highway and includes upgrades to traffic signals, median strips and sidewalks as well as bike and turn lanes and completing some unimproved sections of Lindsey Road.

The Chandler City Council will also consider a $4.77 million contract with Sunbelt Asphalt & Construction for a widening of Gilbert Road south of Brooks Farm Road. The new traffic signal will be installed at a planned new Chandler Unified School District high school.

The Council is also looking at a $676,393 deal with Salt River Project for relocating ‘power distribution facilities’ to accommodate improvements along Cooper Road between Alamosa Drive and Riggs Road.
