Keep on truckin’? Not in Gilbert

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Gilbert Town Council has approved a measure to reduce truck traffic in the popular Heritage District.

The council approved an ordinance to remove Gilbert Road between Elliot and Guadalupe roads from the town’s approved truck routes.

The move aims to reduce trucks navigating and adding to traffic in the Heritage District which is home to popular restaurants such as Barrio Queen, OHSO Brewery, Culinary Dropout, Oregano’s and Postino.

There are other surface street options for trucks in the East Valley suburb.

Gilbert is also working on pedestrian improvements and bringing more events and other uses beyond restaurants to its Heritage area.
