Mesa offers more help with utility bills

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The city of Mesa has increased funding for a program that helps residents pay their utility bills during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mesa has upped the budget for the Mesa CARES Utility Assistance Program from $1 million to $8 million. The local program is funded by the federal CARES Act passed earlier this year in response to the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

Mesa residents can use the assistance to pay off tardy account balance for city of Mesa services as well as with Salt River Project (SRP) and Southwest Gas.
