Phoenix to hear more about landfill redevelopment

A Phoenix City Council committee will get a look at redevelopment plans for the former Del Rio landfill near Elwood and 12th Street in south Phoenix.

Arizona Fresh Holdings LLC wants to lease and redevelop the 156-acre city-owned site.

Redevelopment plans call for an agriculture and food innovation center along with a 20-acre park.

The $128 million project could total as much as 944,000 square feet.
The Council’s Livability and Land Use Committee will hear about development plans at a meeting today.
