Senior living to planned for Glendale

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

A San Francisco real estate private equity firm has plans in Glendale for a senior living community at the Zanjero development next to the Westgate Entertainment District.

The Glendale Planning Commission will consider the plans from Urbanite Capital LLC at its Oct. 1 meeting.

Urbanite wants to develop a 300-unit retirement community with independent living, assisted living and memory care units. The property sits on 7.5 acres and is adjacent to the Palo Verde Cancer Center medical offices.

The property was previously developed as the Zanjero Falls office more than a decade ago. An existing building at the property will be renovated for the assisted living and memory care aspects. A new six-story building will be built for the independent living units.

Plans call for a number of amenities including a hydrotherapy pool, gardens, a theater, fitness room and top floor lounge.

Urbanite is requesting a conditional use permit for the development at Zanjero Boulevard between 91st and 95th Avenue.
