A wiffleball championship is coming to Scottsdale on Saturday, Oct. 24. Thirty-two teams will compete in the inaugural Western Wiffleball Classic hosted at the Scottsdale Stadium, the spring training home of the San Francisco Giants.
In times of stress, the recently formed Little League Wiffleball is hosting a safe, outdoors tournament for all levels and ages of wiffleball players to enjoy a competitive championship tournament in the best venue a wiffleball fan, or baseball fan, could hope for. Enjoy playing on the outfield, touring the dugout, participating in the Home Run Derby, and competing to win. All fields will be set up on the Scottsdale Stadium’s main field, which has been hosting baseball since 1956. The facility itself sits amongst the charm of the city’s famed and active Old Town.
Teams will be made up of two to five wiffleball players, each team playing to win the championship prize. The cost per team is $100. Every team will play a minimum of three games with 16 teams advancing to a single elimination tournament.
