Developer asks for extension for Heritage District project in Gilbert

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Gilbert Town Council will consider extending the closing date for the sale of land for a planned development in its Heritage District area.

Heritage North Partners LLC (LGE and DMB Associates) has plans for a mixed-use development on 9.1 acres at Gilbert Road and Juniper Avenue.

The property is owned by the city and is currently a surface parking lot. The Gilbert Town Council will consider giving the developer until June 22, 2021 with the possibility of another year extension to close on the land.

A number of development deals throughout the Valley and country have seen some delays or extension requests because of the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Heritage North’s plans call for Class A offices, 250 apartments and a 150-room hotel.

The extension is on the Gilbert Town Council’s Oct. 13 agenda.
