The Gilbert Redevelopment Commission will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and will discuss proposed updates to development and design guidelines for the town’s Heritage District.

The Heritage District is located on Gilbert Road between Elliott Road and Guadalupe Road in the East Valley. It is home to popular restaurants and the town wants to bring other uses and more events to the popular area.

The Redevelopment Commission is updating design guidelines for the area and will work on those at its Oct. 21 meeting.

The town also recently approved an ordinance restricting truck traffic through the area to help with traffic and pedestrian flows.
