Roosevelt Row apt tower moving forward

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

Plans are moving forward to bring a 26-story, 301-unit apartment tower to the Roosevelt Row area.

The Phoenix City Council’s Workforce and Economic Development Subcommittee have given the go-ahead for the full City Council to enter into a development agreement for the $87 million project.

That includes a Government Property Lease Excise Tax (GPLET) incentives as well as easements.

Hubbard Street Group wants to build the apartment building at Sixth and Garfield streets. The property was previously the site of the Roosevelt Growhouse, an urban farming cooperative.

The new apartments are also slated to have 10 percent of its units geared towards workforce housing and more affordable rents.

The multifamily plans are also in response to a city request for proposals for downtown development.
