Scottsdale approves church-to-apartments plan

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Scottsdale City Council has approved development and zoning district plans for the planned Southdale apartment project at McDowell Road and 70th Street.

The council voted 7-0 to approve the project at its Oct. 20 meeting. The property is currently home to the Scottsdale Christian Church and a private landscaping business.

Cercidium Holdings LLC wants to redevelop the site into a multifamily project with 267 apartment units and 4,400 square feet of commercial space. The latter includes plans for a 1,100-square-foot neighborhood market.
