As the football world kept marveling about Kyler Murray’s “Hail Murray” touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins a day after the sensational play helped the Cardinals beat the Bills last Sunday, Murray and his handlers were busy trademarking the phrase through the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The filing, made at the bequest of K1 Promotions, LLC, wasn’t the only trademark Murray and Co. applied for this past Monday. The Murray media machine also forwarded the proper paperwork to the USPTO to own the trademark phrase “Murray Magic.”
According to the filings, a copy of which was obtained by The Republic, the nature of obtaining the trademarks are for future apparel purposes, namely hats, visors, caps, shirts, shorts, hoodies and other types of clothing. The registration also states the phrases will be used on a website that features information relating to the “accomplishments, exploits and biography of a professional football player.
