Gilbert to vote on Maracay reimbursement

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Gilbert Town Council is scheduled to vote on a development agreement that will reimburse Maracay Homes for roadway and infrastructure improvements in the area of Val Vista Drive and Ocotillo Road.

Maracay is developing a 140-acre subdivision called Berge Val Vista North at the northwest corner of Ocotillo Road and Val Vista Drive. The subdivision is slated to have 486 single family residential lots.

The council will consider a deal to reimburse Maracay $200,000 to widen Val Vida to three lanes in each direction with bike lands, sidewalk, traffic signal and street light improvements.

The Gilbert council will consider the reimbursement at its Dec. 1 meeting.
