Mesa to hear about streetcar, transit link

The Mesa City Council will be briefed on Thursday, Nov. 12, on routes for a potential streetcar line that would connect the Fiesta Mall areas to the Metro light rail and the Mesa Riverview where the Chicago Cubs spring training ballpark is located.

One recommended streetcar route would run along Dobson Road to Southern Avenue and then connect to downtown Mesa via Country Club Drive.

The lines would also connect to Metro light rail.

A transit connection to the Mesa Riverview area where the Cubs’ Sloan Park is located could also eventually connect a streetcar line being built in Tempe.
