Scottsdale Arizona—Aline Architecture Concepts received two architecture awards during the Architecture Press Release’s 2020 Global Future Design Awards for their work on two Valley buildings.
The Scottsdale Architecture firm won second place in the “Commercial Built Space” Category for their design work on the Old Town Scottsdale wedding/event venue The Clayton House and a third place award in the “Commercial Office Space” category for their work on the Chasse Building Team’s headquarters in Tempe.
Architecture Press Release awarded The Clayton House for its renovations and sustainability according to Aline Principal Brian Laubenthal.
“The 2020 Global Design Awards recognized the radical transformation from a well-worn, non-descript warehouse to a vibrant, bustling center” Laubenthal said. “The sustainable design and adaptive reuse stripped back to its pure structure in order to expose the steel skeleton that gives way to unexpected volume for a new event venue and office mixed-use cluster.”
The renovations also included adding a large patio with an operable glass façade which allows patrons to seamlessly move between the interiors and the garden area.
Clayton House Owner Jane Frenkel said she was amazed at how much Aline’s work transformed the building.
“Aline Architecture Concepts took a rundown old warehouse that we referred to as ‘that old Shed’ and transformed it into a one of a kind event venue” Frenkel said. “Our clients love the refined industrial vibe and the indoor-outdoor capabilities. Aline truly created a gem in the heart of Downtown Scottsdale.”
The Architecture Press Release recognized the Chasse Building headquarters for its sustainability and repurposed design.
“The 2020 Global Design Awards recognized the sustainable design and repurposing of a former manufacturing facility into a new well-being supportive and naturally lit office space,” Laubenthal said.
ALINE connected the building interior to the exterior by introducing multiple sliding glass door panels to new patio spaces around the building allowing for fresh air, visual connections to plant life, and abundant natural light.
The office also features sustainable elements like a solar panel array, skylight tubes, high efficiency mechanical systems, LED lighting with motion sensors, low flow plumbing fixtures, and repurposed finish materials throughout.
