The Chandler City Council is scheduled to vote on an ordinance on Monday, Dec. 7, that would limit recreational marijuana sales to only medical marijuana dispensaries with state licenses.
The move comes after voters approved a marijuana legalization measure on the November ballot.
The Chandler ordinance mirrors those of some other Arizona cities and towns.
The Chandler measure would only allow newly legalized marijuana for recreational use to be sold by a nonprofit medical marijuana dispensary.
The Chandler council will also vote on banning the use of marijuana on city property as well as restricting cannabis testing facilities.
