Chasse Construction up for Mesa library makeover

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The City of Mesa is looking to award a $913,919 contract to Chasse Construction to expand the Kids’ Zone area at the Main Library downtown.

The Mesa City Council will vote on the construction contract at its Dec. 8 meeting.

The city received seven bids from contractors for the library renovations.

The project includes expanding areas for kids programs and exhibits highlighting wildlife. There will also be a new pre-teen area created with improved separation from adult areas, according to city documents.

The contract totals $830,835 with a 10% allowance for changes.

The project is being paid for via Mesa’a arts and culture bonds program.
