A group of New River and Desert Hills residents have formed a political action committee for a last-ditch effort to incorporate the two areas.
The Let New River Desert Hills Decide Political Action Committee will meet on Wednesday, December 16, to discuss its plans to try to become a city. PAC Chairman Dave Thompson said the group believes self-governance is the best method to reach its goals.
“We have filed our incorporation initiative for the ballot with the county, and now we must begin the effort of collecting 2,000 signatures on our petitions,” Thompson said.
