Paradise Valley Town Council officially saw the SmokeTree Resort blueprints — the latest iteration of which includes 115 resort rooms on 4.6 acres — as the town eyes an early 2021 date to decide the redevelopment’s fate.
After the town’s Planning Commission recommended denying its application, SmokeTree Resort is at a fork in the road. Town Planner Paul Michaud said applicant GenTree LLC requested a continuation to a later date, but the request was denied.
“My correspondence with the applicant earlier this week, they had a preference to think about what their next steps are and really were looking to possibly postpone this work study session discussion,” Mr. Michaud told the Town Council during a Dec. 3 virtual meeting.
