Policing, the condition of streets and sidewalk and economic development rank among the top priorities for Tempe residents.

That is according to the results of a new community survey conducted by the East Valley city.

The Tempe City Council will be briefed on the community survey at its meeting on Friday, Dec. 11.

The survey found 81% of Tempe residents are satisfied with city services. That is 33% above the national average.

Tempe residents listed police services as their top priority for the city to focus on 2021. That is followed by improving the conditions of streets and sidewalks, social services, neighborhoods and economic development.

Traffic delays — which were previously cited as a concern related to new developments in the downtown and Tempe Town Lake areas — ranked 10th on the list with 13% of residents listing it as most important.
