Wickenburg halts manufactured home park plan

A proposed manufactured home park on the west edge of town hit a snag during Monday night’s Town Council meeting.

Up for discussion was a proposed 184-unit manufactured home park on 24 acres of private property along the south side of Hwy. 60 between West Park and the Flying E Ranch.

Council considered two items in relation to the proposed park, and voted both down.

The property where the park would be situated consists of 53 acres east of the intersection of W. Wickenburg Way and Flying E Ranch Road, owned by Flying E 52 LLC, with John Richter representing the owner group, which also owns Flying E Ranch. The property is designated in the Town’s General Plan as Commercial. The proposed project consists of three parcels within the 53 acres – 24 acres of which were proposed as the manufactured home park. In order for the project to move forward, the General Plan and zoning would both have to be changed to allow it.
