Proposals which would allow for a mobile home park near the intersection of W. Wickenburg Way and Flying E Ranch Road will be presented to the Town’s Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) on Thursday evening. Public hearings will be held during the meeting at 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
The proposed area consists of approximately 53 acres of private property owned by Flying E 52, LLC, adjacent to Westpark, on the west edge of town. According to the application on file with the Town of Wickenburg, the owner plans 184 mobile home lots, a clubhouse and amenities. John Richter, owner of Flying E 52 LLC told The Sun on Monday the development will not be age restricted, and he is hopeful it will address the lack of affordable housing for the working class and families in the area, as well as encourage some to relocate to Wickenburg.
He said the homes will be manufactured with 2×6 construction, with higher standards than some production homes. “We are working with the manufacturer to design homes to fit the western theme in Wickenburg,” Richter said. The homes will be “an attractive front porch series,” with various sizes of two and three bedroom models with at least two bathrooms, he said. With home constructions costs on a steep incline, he said purchasing homes directly from a manufacturer is “a smarter way to have an affordable product.”
