Goodyear kicking off 75th anniversary celebrations

The city of Goodyear is kicking off a yearlong celebration of its 75th anniversary with a virtual ceremony Friday.

A small ceremony, held at Loma Linda Park, will include comments from a local historian, a video of the city in its early development and a speech by Mayor Georgia Lord, according to the city.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, the ceremony will be streamed on the city’s website and Facebook page starting at 10 a.m.

“Goodyear is thriving, and we look forward to celebrating with our residents all the things that make it a great time to be in Goodyear,” Lord said in a press release.
