Land deal could help flood insurance premiums in Glendale

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

PDS Realty LLP is donating three parcels of land totaling 10.5 acres to the city of Glendale to help protect the Arrowhead Ranch Water Reclamation Facility from runoff in the New River Channel.

The water plant is located at 8180 W. Union Hills Drive. The acquisition allows the city of Glendale to own and maintain areas adjacent to the plant.

The Glendale City Council will consider the deal at its Jan. 12 meeting. City officials said acquiring the land could help lower flood insurance premiums in the area because the parcels offer more open and designated space for floodplains.
