Phoenix to consider office-to-apartments proposal

The Phoenix City Council is scheduled to vote on a rezoning application for new apartments proposed at 31st Avenue and Northern Avenue.

The item on the council’s agenda for Jan. 6 along with a public hearing on the matter.

Northern Lights Holdings LLC (Brian Holmason) is asking the city of Phoenix to rezone a 2.82 acres from general commercial to a multifamily designation to allow for the development of 50 apartments.

The rezoning effort requires a three-quarters vote approval from the Phoenix council.

Development plans call for conversion of an existing office property into apartments along with the construction of another new multifamily building.
