CASA GRANDE — This is the time when news organizations typically recount the year’s top stories. 2020 was a year when one story was constantly in the news and affected nearly everything to the point that it almost could consume the whole list.
The global pandemic of COVID-19 started near the beginning of the year, but the severity and scope of its effects were not known for a couple of months. However, that happened soon enough, and it filled the pages of PinalCentral and its newspapers constantly. Governments, education and everyday life felt a constant impact. Routine events were put on hold, and in many cases that even included people’s work lives and their ability to earn a living. Some people rebelled against the restrictions, and that became just one more aspect of the story.
As the year drew to a close, multiple vaccines were being rushed to delivery points and administered in all states and other parts of the world. While many people have feared or stated objections to vaccination, countless others are looking forward to a time they believe will be much closer to normal.
