FLORENCE — A future high-tech manufacturing plant on 1,000 acres in Queen Creek has received support from the Pinal County Board of Supervisors for its application to be in a foreign trade zone.
The plant is expected to produce 1,900 full-time jobs in phase one, each paying approximately $70,000 per year, and a capital investment of $17 billion, according to the resolution the board approved Friday.
Pinal County Economic Development Director Tim Kanavel, contacted after the meeting, said he couldn’t release details of the proposal, which the county is referring to as “Project Everest” at this time.
