Meghan McCain and Kelli Ward went head to head on Twitter Saturday after the Arizona Republican Party declared it is leaving the days of the late Sen. John McCain behind.
The exchange started when “The View” co-host responded to the initial tweet from the Arizona Republican Party’s official account stating in part, “As the sun sets on 2020, remember that we’re never going back to the party of Romney, Flake, and McCain.”
The tweet referenced 2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and two former Arizona senators, the late 2008 GOP presidential candidate John McCain and Jeff Flake.
Meghan McCain quoted the tweet twice.
“Honestly whomever is running this Twitter account can go to hell,” she wrote first. The second post, six minutes later, said, “How’d that work out on election day in Arizona?”
