Goodyear council looks at 1,250-acre annexation

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Goodyear City Council will look at proposed annexation of 1,250 acres of land at its meeting this evening (Monday, Feb. 8).

The land is located between Pecos Road and Queen Creek Road and 187th and 203rd avenues.

The land is mostly undeveloped and used for farming. It is currently zoned for agriculture and one-acre residential lots.

If Goodyear opts to annex the land, there could be plans for as many as 4,600 residential units in a master planning community called Estrella Highlands.

There are 15 separate ownership groups in the annexation territory, according to city documents.
