The Chandler City Council is scheduled to vote later today (Thursday, Feb. 25) on a $79,580 expenditure to book hotel rooms for homeless and at-risk families and individuals impacted by COVID-19.

The effort is in conjunction with Maricopa County.

The latest expenditure would bring Chandler’s total spending for the program to $238,740 which started last year in response to the pandemic.

The program also includes on-site, 24/7 security at the hotels in the effort.

The $79,580 would book 10 hotel rooms for homeless individuals and families through March 31.
