The North Copper Canyon master plan soon will be more than halfway home following the Surprise City Council’s approval of preliminary plats for three more of its parcels at the Jan. 19 meeting.
Surprise has approved nine plats in the master plan west of Grand Avenue and Deer Valley Road. Those approvals comprise 1,816 lots spread over just more than 454 acres. The three new parcels total 525 lots in 14 separate tracts on 141.78 acres north of Deer Valley and Austin Ranch roads, and add to a total of 1,098 lots awaiting review and approval of the final plats.
“This is about three-quarters of the way preliminary platted through,” City Planner Hobart Wingard said Jan. 19.
